What data do we hold?

Why do we hold this data?
We hold data, as detailed above, with the purpose of informing you of progress, successes and details of the charity. From time to time we will send a newsletter. This is irregular and only when there is new information on the charity or the children, or significant fundraising activity. And only if you have subscribed to the newsletter since May 2018
We also use this information to thank you personally for the donations you make, if we can crossmatch details from our bank statements, or via PayPal donations.
To adhere to UK Tax laws and verification of Gift Aided Donations (UK Tax payers only).
When you purchase something from our website
Where is this data held?
Paper derived information, such as Standing Order forms and Gift Aid forms are scanned and held in double sign in cloud-based files, stored on servers in the EEA (European Economic Area). The paper copies are then destroyed.
Email addresses received by you making a PayPal donation are replied to with thanks, and stored for future use in case of further donations. They are never added to our mailing list.
Who do we share your data with?
Mailchimp, for purposes of sending you information on the charity and children.
HMRC in some circumstances (UK Gift Aid), and other accounting reasons.
How long do we hold this data?
Your email addresses and name will be held in our Mailchimp account until you decide to no longer receive our emails and unsubscribe. This information will be then transferred to the unsubscribed list of Mailchimp, so that we know never to contact you again.
In cases of donations, we are required to keep your information for tax and accounting purposes for seven years.
There are rights you have as a data subject including but not limited to, the right to object, the right to be forgotten, the right of access.
In relation to HCEP, if you have any concerns including complaints, please contact Barbara Murrell via the website, or via email firstname.lastname@example.org
We may need to retain your personal data for adherence to the law in terms of tax and accounting purposes.
In cases of using your right to be forgotten, we will retain securely your name and email only to not contact you again. This will be stored in our Mailchimp account.
We may request information from you to identify that it is you requesting any information from us.
